Orthopedic Rehab and Performance

Physical Therapy done differently.

FIRST, LET'S COVER WHAT WE WILL *NEVER* do:

  • tell you you can't (do, play, participate, etc.)

  • forget who you are and why you're here

  • make assumptions

  • watch you do boring exercises on a table for an hour

  • give you an ice pack and sit you in the corner

  • get out our cookbook and give you the same treatment as everyone else

  • say "never" (*ok, except for this list of what we will NEVER do)

Okayyy, now that that's out of the way...Let's GET TO IT!

WHAT WE EXCEL AT HELPING YOU WITH:

  • your goals

  • recovering from injury, surgery, and flare-ups and tweaks with evidence-based interventions specific to your individual needs, including functional movement and strengthening

  • overcoming fear of pain and injury so that you may move forward into a life with fitness

  • prevention (crazy concept, right?)

  • DIGGING DEEP...have you had a cranky hammy or low back pain for as long as you can remember? That's long enough. Let's look at you as a WHOLE PERSON and find the actual root.

  • Being you.  Just as you are. Which means getting you back to doing the things you love.

  • DISCOVERING STRENGTH. It's in there. Maybe you haven't felt it for a while (or ever?)...maybe you're struggling to get back into higher-intensity workouts...pushing for a PR...or just want to feel strong again after an injury or pregnancy or whatever.  Let's get at it.

  • LIVING IT UP.  When you feel healthy and strong, you're unstoppable in all other realms. You don't stop at status quo and neither do we.  You nailed phase 1 of your goals. What's next?

HOW DO WE DO ALL THIS?

  • Aside from years and years of education, clinical practice, specialization in Pelvic Health, and participating in ONLY the best of the best when it comes to cutting-edge continuing education skills and tools for Doctors of Physical Therapy...we've got a few other things going for us that we value just as much:

    • experience being an athlete (the good, the bad, and the ugly)

    • experience being a birthing parent (same)

    • experience working all over the country/world with different people and different cultures (hence...honor and respect for the unique beauties of all humans)

    • experience being a queer person in this world who has had numerous demeaning experiences within the medical community

    • experience leading with compassion first, always

CLINICAL SKILLS AND TOOLS WE USE (*not limited to)

  • soft tissue/myofascial mobilization (many methods)

  • visceral mobilization

  • dry needling

  • joint mobilization

  • myofascial decompression ("cupping")

  • therapeutic and functional exercise/movement

  • injury screens

  • sport-specific assessments and training

  • post-partum fitness (from general fitness to high-level athletics including running, weight-lifting, etc.)

    • prolapse risk profile

  • fitness for mental health

  • internal vaginal/rectal and/or external pelvic floor muscle assessment (*as indicated for pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction)

    • self-care training tools: dilators, wands, etc.

  • breathwork/mindfulness

  • holistic pain management (nutrition, sleep, stress management, social factors)

  • individualized plan of care based on your unique goals
